Another one for the metal monsters that will soon take over. This time a robot programmed to play pool using a very complex visual recognition system, this has been floating about on You Tube but it’s news to me so why not share!

It’s taken years of work so hats off to all involved in the creation of this. Deep Green as it is called is equipped with a vision system that can identify striped and solid balls, track sphere dipoles (PDF format), and achieve other feats of pool-related image processing.

Would you go up against this? Seeing as it has no emotions the whole mentality issue kind of goes away for it at least you on the other hand will be crying over this soul-less droid beating you in a game for years to come.
