It’s been an interesting 7 days for those within the technosphere. After months of denying, shuffling around and closed door talks Google have finally spilled (albeit in scraps) some very interesting news. The Google phone lives.
So what do we know so far?
- Will run on Android 2.1
- Uses Snapdragon 1GHz processor
- Hardware made by HTC
- Hi-res touchscreen OLED Screen
- 5MP Camera
- Same form factor but thinner than the current gen iPhones
- Sold as a GSM phone which will be sold directly to consumers and not locked to a network (U.S confirmed, Europe likely to be the same)
- Will ship January/Q1 2010
Nexus One – Boot Animation
This looks to be an interesting phone from Google who submit that this is their uncompromising idea of what the ‘real’ Android OS should be with the design aesthetics of HTC’’s hardware.
Will it be a game changer? An iPhone killer? We can’t be sure just yet but expect more news to seep out from Mountain View as time goes on and with a January release date looming the marketing machine will have to jump into action and feed our hungry eyes.
Stay Tuned…
